The SCE Green Energy Tour 2009 is scheduled to take place beginning Sunday, March 1 and ending Wednesday, March 4, 2009. As part of the International Renewable Energy Technology Institute – System for Technology Transfer (IRETI-STT), the SCE Green Energy Tour 2009 provides Minnesota participants with an opportunity to further the partnership between the Kingdom of Sweden and the US to deliver critical technology transfer services across the globe.

The SCE Green Energy Tour 2009 is a direct result of the exciting opportunities and business relationships developed during the first U.S.-based International Bioenergy Days (IBED) event held this past fall at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Sweden is a recognized world leader in the innovation and application of bioenergy technologies and renewable vehicle fuels, as well as, best in breed when it comes to developing entrepreneurial companies in the renewable energy industry. Participation in the SCE Green Energy Tour 2009 is open to Minnesota companies, government employees, and members of the academic community involved in:

Bioenergy development or management Engineering or construction of bioenergy systems Production, distribution, or sales of bioenergy-related systems or components. The SCE Green Energy Tour 2009 will showcase a wide-range of innovative and sustainable renewable energy technologies and applications, including, large scale combined heat and power facilities fueled by municipal wastes, wood-fueled district heating, pellet-fueled residential heating, biogas production, biodiesel production and energy efficient construction methods. There will also be several opportunities to talk with representatives from the US Embassy in Stockholm and local politicians throughout the tour to gain further insights into policies and measures that have helped Sweden achieve success in an emerging bioeconomy.

For those interested participants, as part of World Sustainable Energy Days 2009, the European Pellet Conference will also be held in Wels, Austria during the week preceding the Tour on February 25 – 26, 2009.
