NE CERT Meeting - Eco-Industrial Park & Solar Power

Are you interested in learning what an eco-industrial park is and the details for one planned for Beaver Bay? Would you like to hear how Two Harbors High School installed a 2.8kW solar system? The public is invited to participate in these FREE events and learn more.
The Northeast Region Clean Energy Resource Team (CERT) will host the events. People will meet at the Beaver Bay Community Center, and then those that wish to will drive down to Two Harbors.

Beaver Bay Community Center: 11:30am–2:30pm
11:30am – meeting for lunch, introductions
11:45am – Lana Frolich, City Administrator from Silver Bay will talk about their plan for an eco-industrial park. Other team members who will share their ideas and expertise may include:
- Mike Mageau, UMD-Center for Sustainable Community Development will speak about wind development potential
- Bruce Carman, Project Manager and business leader
- Tim Nolan MPCA leader on the eco-industrial park
- Chuck Hartley, energy manager biomass-binary energy
- Mike and Andrew Klemer Biofuels experts
- Mike Miller, Manager of SB Sanitary District (food for algae = biofuels)
2:15pm – Rural Energy Development Initiative (REDI), Bonnie from ARDC
Travel to Two Harbors: 2:30-3:15pm
Two Harbors High School: 3:15–4:00pm
3:15pm – Meet Jamie Juenemann and Two Harbors High School Faculty and Staff at school to check out their 2.8kW solar PV installation and hear about the system, the rationale for putting it up, and how it’s now being integrated into classroom activities.
4:00pm – Adjourn and head for home!

Directions
The Beaver Bay Community Center is located roughly 1 hour north of Duluth, on the left side of the road. It is a building located above the Lemon Wolf Café. There is a parking lot next to the building, as well as two parking lots above it. Address is: 711 MacDonald Avenue, Beaver Bay, MN.
Two Harbor High School is located at 1640 Hwy 2, in Two Harbors.
