Residential Energy Auditor Training

This five-day course provides basic training in how to assess the potential for improving home energy efficiency and comfort. The Residential Energy Auditor program is suited for employees or individuals who are performing or interested in utility sponsored residential energy conservation audits and working with the low-income weatherization program. A competency examination will be included with the cost of registration. Successfully passing the examination will allow students to demonstrate that they meet the State of Minnesota’s minimum qualifications for residential energy auditors. Dates for the examination will be provided; students will need to reserve a test date of their choice after completing the course. Trainings will also be held on December 8 – December 12, 2008; and January 12 – January 16, 2009. Click here for more information.

Free Energy Efficiency Education Seminar

Representatives from Marshall Municipal Utilities, Missouri River Energy Services and Great Plains Natural Gas will be available to provide energy saving information and to answer questions. One will learn: Low and no cost energy saving opportunities; Home heating and water heating energy savings; Appliance and electronics energy consumption; Lighting suggestions and savings opportunities; Rebates and Incentives available for energy efficient equipment purchases. Greenhouse Gas Measurement Tools for Local Governments

This FREE half-day workshop co-sponsored by the Metropolitan Energy Policy Coalition (MEPC) and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency will highlight the operational aspects of greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and emissions reductions efforts. By collaboratively learning about greenhouse gas monitoring and emissions reductions in the present, local government managers, administrators, staff, and elected officials will be prepared to successfully navigate implementation challenges in the near future. This workshop will examine local, state, and national GHG reductions efforts while specifically focusing on the regulatory, fiscal, and operational implications that will impact local governments.
