Rochester Post-Bulletin - $10,000 for clean energy in region

Article: Four projects in this region will receive grants from the Clean Energy Resource Team to increase awareness of alternative energy or upgrade an old school’s heating system.

The four were among 27 announced for the state totaling $70,000.

The four in this region are:

  • Make Mine Solar in Freeborn, Mower, Olmsted and Steele counties, $5,300 to both increase consumer awareness around solar thermal technologies and decrease the barriers that often slow solar installations.
  • Renewable Energy Guide for Schools Outreach for the Minnesota Renewable Energy Society Southeast CERT Region, $500 to produce a Renewable Energy Guide for Schools.
  • Jefferson Elementary School in Winona for its Direct Digital Control System and Facilities Staff Training. $2,100 to begin upgrades to its 1939 vintage heating system.
  • Small Wind Bulk Buy Blue Earth, Faribault, Le Sueur and Waseca counties, $2,100,to develop a Small Wind Bulk Buy program.
