Over the past decade, the cost of wind energy has become competitive with wholesale power prices. Comined with its positive environmental attributes and public demand for clean energy resources, the expectation is that the magnitude of wind power contributing to the electrical supply mix will continue to increase, perhaps someday exceeding 20% of the electrical energy served. Hydropower may be ideally suited to integrate wind power in a power system. The purpose of this report is to perform an in-depth review of the literature related to wind integration, especially in systems with hydropower. Report date: Februrary 2011
