George Kinney, Chair of Northfield Energy Task Force: George Kinney served as Chair of the Northfield Energy Task Force during its one year of existence, and he continues to make occasional appearances before the City Council to update them on energy issues as the permanent energy advisory committee is put in place. He is also a member of the Environmental Quality Commission, another advisory body to the Council. His day job is working for Dakota County, MN, where he has worked for 25 years. For the past three years he has headed the Contaminated Sites workgroup, cleaning up brownfields and dumps. Previously he supervised the solid and hazardous waste regulation programs. Before Dakota County, George worked in consulting and private industry as a chemist, and taught high school for eight years.
