Jennifer Blecha, Local Food Program Manager, The Minnesota Project: Jennifer Blecha has a Ph.D. in human geography, and has taught and done research on urban agriculture, sustainable food systems, and waste reduction. She was recently on the faculty of San Francisco State University. Besides leading the Local Foods Program of the Minnesota Project, Jennifer enjoys gardening and taking care of her backyard chickens.

Heather Schoonover, Senior Program Associate, Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy: Heather Schoonover is a Senior Program Associate at the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, a non-profit organization in Minneapolis that works at the intersection of policy and practice to ensure fair and sustainable food, farm and trade systems. Since joining IATP in 2001, her areas of focus have included farm policy and public health; food access in underserved communities; opportunities and challenges for sustainable biofuels production and linkages between agriculture and climate. Heather currently works with IATP’s Local Foods Program, expanding market opportunities for local farmers and advancing policy in support of local food systems. She holds both an M.S. and a B.S. in Earth Systems from Stanford University.

Annalisa Hultberg, Local Foods Program Assistant, The Minnesota Project: Annalisa Hultberg works as the Local Foods Program Assistant at the Minnesota Project, where she helps develop and oversee programming relating to increasing local foods use across Minnesota. She is also a MS graduate student in the Department of Forest Resources at the University of Minnesota, where her research focuses on local foods distribution and infrastructure issues, and the impact these have on the supply of healthy local foods and farm profitability in greater Minnesota. Recently she oversaw a project: “GIS Mapping of Minnesota’s Local Food Infrastructure” with the University of Minnesota’s Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships, and is currently helping create a Guide to Organic Buyers in Minnesota with the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture.
