What can Metro CERTs do for me?
We are here to help you in any capacity we can. We can connect your group to technical resources, experts, and financial opportunities. We can help your group come up with project ideas as well as be of assistance your group through project implementation and project organization.
Does the Metro CERTs Network help financially?
No. However, we act as a resource to explain and connect your group to the funding opportunities that exist for communities, schools, and churches. We are cognizant of the ranging economic needs of various groups and seek to help each group find the tools they may need to accomplish their goal. Even though we don’t provide the funds ourselves, we do help find the funds necessary to execute the project successfully.
Where does my group project fit within the larger network?
Though the Network is large, your affiliate group project will be working with our team to make sure your group has all that it needs to implement its project. The Green Institute coordinates the Metro CERTs Network, which then branches off to help various CERTs affiliate groups execute their project ideas. In conjunction with the coordinators of the Metro CERTs Network, an Advisory Committee also lends its expertise to ensure that projects are running smoothly.
If I don’t have a project idea for my community, can I still work with Metro CERTs?
Yes. If your group would like to implement a project but do not have an idea, our team will help your group figure out the best idea for your particular community. If you have an idea, but do not know how to begin, we are also here to help with circumstances like those as well.
What does it mean to become a Metro CERTs affiliate group?
A Metro CERTs affiliate group is a group of individuals that ranges in size and ideas. From a neighborhood association to a neighborhood block, an affiliate group is thinking of creating and developing a community energy efficiency project or has already initiated a project and needs Metro CERTs for associated consultation. Group projects can be as small as a recycling initiative in the community or installing solar paneling on various community buildings. A Metro CERTs affiliate must fill out our Affiliate Group Agreement that further explains the broader goals of the group’s commitment to their project.
