Event Description

Meet with teams from 40 cities & find practical support for your city’s next steps to implement high impact actions for low-carbon buildings, energy, transportation, resilience, equity, green jobs & zero waste.

Who should attend? City & county staff, elected leaders, commission & community volunteers and community, nonprofit, business & utility implementation partners.

Benefits of attending:  

  • Connect with your peers from other cities with experience taking the actions your city wants to take during Topic Sessions on Energy, Buildings, Transportation, Resilience, Green Jobs and Zero Waste
  • Learn how our cities and make the most of new Federal IIJA funds & IRA Tax Credits to advance local priorities.

Two Options: Afternoon 11am to 4:30pm &/or Evening 4:30pm to 8pm to attend in person or on-line

Topic Sessions:

  • Efficient Buildings (Commercial & residential) benchmarking, sustainable buildings, TISH, electrification
  • Clean Energy - Sol Smart, solar-ready construction, procurement, community solar gardens, tax credits
  • Transportation - E.V. charging funds & tax credits, mobility hubs, hybrid commuting, VMT (parking, TOD)
  • Resilience - adaptation (heat, flooding & air quality) green infrastructure, forestry, natural resources
  • Green Jobs - equitable workforce & small business development for all the topics listed above
  • Zero Waste - review & add your feedback to Hennepin County's draft Zero Waste Plan

During Topic Sessions - for each High Impact Action (25 High Impact City Actions):

  • Experienced cities will share how they approved & are implementing the actions
  • Resource people will share current resources & multi-city teams available to support cities
  • Together we’ll brainstorm ways to overcome barriers that would prevent cities from taking the actions
  • Learn how to join multi-city implementation teams (i.e. Efficient Buildings Collaborative). Help launch new teams to support our work on more topics (i.e. E.V. infrastructure, forestry, net-zero buildings & connecting businesses & renters & with current & new energy efficiency programs & tax credits.
