Primary Duties

National Grid Renewables is seeking an Associate of Origination to work across the team in support of origination activities. This position will be responsible for conducting analyses and completing tasks associated with all facets of origination, and across all customer segments including:  Commercial and Industrial accounts, Investor Owned Utilities, coops and other public power clients.  In addition, they will be key owners of processes that support origination team including development of proposals for renewable energy RFPs, attending trade and regional conferences, and supporting negotiations of power purchase agreements. The candidate will be a reliable, dynamic, high-energy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can multi-task effectively and contribute across many organizational functions.  Attention to detail, effective communication skills, proven ability to work effectively across a team, demonstrated problem-solving ability, strong business acumen, and a passion to learn, are pre-requisites to success in this role.

  • Analyze the impact of current and potential policy changes to market demand
  • Evaluate market trends and identify new customers and customer needs
  • Assist in developing best practices and protocols for maintaining customer database and other business tools and processes
  • Support the development of pricing strategies, financial analyses, proposals, and presentations to customers
  • Conduct market research and analyses for strategic planning purposes
  • Collaborate with origination team to execute PPA negotiations and in strategy development to identify and access new market segments and customers
  • Apply renewable energy industry knowledge to contribute to the company’s development and policy strategies
  • Travel is expected to be 10-25% (as the job requires)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years related experience, including business analysis, renewable energy origination, or other relevant experience
  • Demonstrated record of reliability, team-work, problem-solving, and professional success delivering results
