for local governments

June 18, 2019

Twin Cities MN

Host
Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs), Great Plains Institute (GPI), World Resources Institute (WRI), Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI)
Event Description

Who should attend:

  • Buildings/facilities staff
  • GreenStep Cities coordinators
  • Planning commissioners
  • Community Development developers

Travel stipends may be made available for communities outside the metro area.

What to expect:

  • Learn from national experts about several renewable procurement options – utility supplied renewable energy, solar deployment options, procurement in the wholesale market, and renewable energy credits (RECs)
  • Discuss barriers and opportunities for renewable energy procurement with other Minnesota communities
  • How renewable procurement fits into local renewable energy goals

This boot-camp will kick-off a 9-month peer network during which CERTs and GPI will support interested communities in the development of tailored action plans to increase renewable energy in their communities. Participating cities will meet several times between summer 2019 and spring 2020 to learn about renewable energy procurement options. Attending this kick-off is not a commitment to being a part of this peer network.

More information will be available soon. In the meantime, mark your calendar for June 18th!
