CIP Planner Position
$26.89 - $39.62 /hourly; $56,146 - $82,727 /annually
To act as a lead analyst in the Conservation Improvement Program (CIP), as assigned, and provide technical support for positions of the Minnesota Department of Commerce on CIP (utility ratepayer funded demand-side management) regulatory compliance. This position’s particular focus is on CIP planning matters, which will include implementation of the Department's statewide energy efficiency potential findings, coordinating with utilities to quantify and establish energy savings calculations for efficiency technologies, implementation of research and development findings, and other planning matters as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in science, engineering, economics, business, or similar field AND (4) four or more years of experience in utility regulation, energy management, environmental or consumer advocacy, building technologies, energy efficiency and conservation, engineering or similar fields.
Advanced Degree in engineering, business, environmental studies, law, public administration, or similar fields AND (3) three or more years of experience in utility regulation, energy management, environmental or consumer advocacy, building technologies, energy efficiency and conservation, engineering or similar fields.
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Applicants who meet the above experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following:
Demonstrated communication skills and detail-orientation.
Four or more years of relevant experience with the Conservation Improvement Program.
Four or more years of experience working directly with electric and natural gas investor-owned, municipal and rural electric cooperative utilities.
Expertise with complex spreadsheet analysis.
Expertise designing and creating graphics using Tableau.
Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
