Primary Duties

The Residential Program Manager will manage and coordinate the sourcing of residential community solar subscribers (customers) throughout the US. Through direct marketing, acquisitions, and development partnerships, the Residential Program Manager will ensure that power-marketing efforts are aligned with relevant regulatory regimes, project development schedules, and financing requirements. The Residential Program Manager will work with the Sales and Customer Service Manager to continuously improve the process for customer acquisition, prepare and advocate for business plans and internal resource requests, and ensure the customer journey from sign-up to support is seamless. This role oversees the success of the customer acquisition and management platforms, maintaining satisfied customers and achieving volume sales goals while minimizing cost and maintaining a positive representation of US Solar to residents participating in the program. Responsibilities:

  • Manage business processes and tools designed to streamline the acquisition and management of residential subscribers in US Solar’s target markets
  • Develop strategic planning of entry into new markets as regulatory and market conditions allow
  • Build and execute marketing campaigns to creatively and effectively achieve acquisition goals and build the US Solar brand
  • Assist in diligence evaluation of prospective channel partners that may be suitable for subscriber acquisition
  • Communicate sales status, portfolio analysis, and projects regularly with leadership
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of regulatory, utility, and other program requirements governing acquisition of community solar subscriptions in specific markets
  • Support key functional teams, including legal, finance, and operations
  • Manage one or more Residential Team Members as direct reports
Experience
  • At least four years of marketing management or similar role with a strong track record of success (preferred experience in solar, energy efficiency, or financial product)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, advanced degree preferred
  • Prior experience leading and managing cross-functional, dispersed sales or marketing teams to drive progress against key schedule and sales volume-related milestones
  • Demonstrates understanding of multiple facets of sales, sales management, and power marketing
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills (verbal and written) with superiors, colleagues, partners, and stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated achiever with ability to multi-task, prioritize, plan, and manage deadlines
  • Knowledge of community solar policy and regulatory frameworks, net metering, and/or retail tariff structures preferred
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the renewable energy industry
