Mortenson is currently seeking a Data Analyst for our Solar Group to analyze internal data and identify patterns and trends in available information sources to assist management with estimating and operational decision making, policy formulation, and other managerial functions.

As an Data Analyst in the Solar Group, You Will:

  • Understand the assigned business challenge and develop a plan to identify, obtain, and analyze the necessary data to drive improved business performance
  • Extract information from internal systems, project cost data, project labor productivity data, industry reports, public information, field reports, and other data sources to identify correlations and translate them into internal, operational insights
  • Conduct statistical analyses and randomized controlled trials
  • Consume and consolidate large amounts of data into centralized, sustainable, and repeatable measurements
  • Apply and integrate statistical, mathematical, predictive modeling and business analysis to manage and manipulate complex high-volume data from a variety of sources
  • Develop, analyze, and model operational, economic, management, and other organizational data
    • Quantify historical labor productivity and project cost data
    • Evaluate potential operational changes
    • Design new approaches and methodologies
  • Review program data consistently to provide corrective action when necessary based on information collected and current trends to maximize business performance
  • Develop tracking procedures for trend analyses and programmatic changes that result in a growing data base of useful information
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum three years of related experience
  • Knowledge and experience with standard programming language such as SAS, C, C++, Python, or Java
  • Experience with analytics and visualization tools
