Organization Summary

Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center (wolf-ridge.org), a private non-profit and accredited school, seeks an experienced leader who builds equitable, inclusive, and diverse teams and has demonstrated success achieving the innovative, effective, and efficient use of campus facilities. This role serves the fulfillment of hosting hundreds of guests each week, mostly children, providing high levels of hospitality for one of the largest accredited residential centers in the nation. This position leads and supports a team of department managers and provides work direction for many more that hosts thousands of guests year-round for nationally-acclaimed environmental education programming. Guests range from K–12 children to inter-generational family groups, conferences, and collegiate graduate students. Wolf Ridge operations are conducted on a 2,000-acre main campus with a 400-bed facility and a 68-acre Lake Superior Field Station. Primary Duties

This position manages and supports the team of people who facilitate high quality guest experiences in areas of dining, lodging, maintenance, farm, and office operations for a 400-bed 130,000 square foot facility. This position is responsible for assuring positive customer experiences that serve the mission of the center with a high level of hospitality. This position is also accountable for operations of the retail store and management of large special projects. This position is a member of the organizational leadership team.

Experience

● Management experience of employees in facilitation of facility experiences for others
(service, education, or hospitality), minimum 3 years.
● Bachelor Degree in related field or equivalent training.
● Excellent facilitation and communications skills are required, with the ability to create an
inclusive and participatory environment for clients and staff.
● Strong human resource management experience fostering positive relationships and trust in
a safe, respectful space for staff members to productively work.
● Demonstrated experience in problem solving, conflict resolution, decision-making, and
prioritization skills that strengthens relationships and enhances understanding.
● Ability to effectively and productively work independently to establish and achieve goals.
● Ability to create vision and turn it into reality through collaborative work of a team.
● Strong computer skills required. Experience using internet based communications,
Microsoft suite of products with emphasis on Word and Excel, Google suite, and preference for
experience with Customer Relational Management and other databases.
● Experience with risk management and emergency procedures.
● Knowledge of human resource best practices. HR certification is valued but not required.
● Favorable background screening required.
● Current Driver’s license
