40 hours per week, M-F 8:00-4:30 with some extended hours as needed or assigned

Primary Duties

We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and motivated person to provide professional, courteous customer service by conducting energy assessments in customers’ homes and providing education and recommendations to reduce their household energy costs. Primary responsibilities of this full-time position will include: *Conduct home visits to perform energy assessments and educate the customer in ways to reduce their energy burden. *Review household needs/ budget- provide appropriate referrals for financial literacy and other programs within Tri-CAP and in the community, including appliance replacement programs to reduce energy burden. *Conduct outreach and education activities, including presentations for businesses, agencies and other community partners. *Participate in data collection and program evaluation activities. *Establish and maintain effective referral network and community linkages.


*High school equivalency and minimum of three years related work experience OR combination of five years post-secondary education and related work experience in human services and/or residential energy conservation. *Excellent public relation and communication skills; keep strict confidentiality of participant and agency data. *Knowledge and experience in providing energy conservation advice within a community setting, preferred. *Strong computer and organizational skills required. *Must have ability to pass Xcel Energy security clearance. *Bi-lingual (Spanish or Somali) preferred. *Ability to travel in four-county service area.
