Primary Duties

Description

The Insulation Crew Supervisor supervises production for CEE’s Workforce Development Program and is responsible for all aspects of insulation and air sealing project work in homes including developing and ensuring adherence to protocols; field intern supervision, on-site training, and quality control; inventory and warehouse management; tools, equipment, and vehicle management; and homeowner issues resolution. This is a new position at CEE and is an opportunity for a skilled insulator to train interns to complete insulation and air sealing projects. This position works closely with other management and staff of the Residential Department to achieve overall program and departmental goals.

This is a supervisory level position that reports to the Workforce Program Manager. This is a full-time position that provides a wide range of benefits including Paid Time Off (PTO), medical, dental, life and long-term disability insurance and a retirement plan.  The Insulation Site Supervisor has 2-4 short-term internship direct reports on a rolling and ongoing basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all on-site insulation and air sealing work in residential homes
  • Conduct on-site training for short-term interns learning insulation and air sealing techniques as part of the Workforce Development Program
  • Work with Workforce Program Manager and Training Manager and other Residential staff on project planning, pipeline development, and installation protocols
  • Manage inventory needs, pricing, and ordering
  • Manage customer complaint/request responses including coordination of any necessary follow–up visits
  • Develop and maintain insulation project standards, and protocols
  • Ensure warehouse, vehicles, tools, and equipment are clean, organized, and maintained for optimal safety and performance
  • Ensure optimum home performance after job completion  using “house as a system” concepts
  • Adhere to corporate policies and procedures, attend trainings as requested, and read corporate wide emails and correspondence
  • Collaborate with Workforce Program Manager and Training Manager to engage with insulation employer partners and to coordinate on internship training needs

Experience

 Qualifications/Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience doing residential insulation and air sealing work
  • Experience training crew members on insulation and air sealing techniques or other construction methods
  • Working knowledge of building science principles as related to residential buildings
  • Experience organizing and prioritizing work tasks
  • Must have basic computer and keyboard competency and show proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel. 
  • Ability to work outdoors, in confined spaces, on ladders, on roofs
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 75 pounds
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Ability to deliver a high level of customer service
  • Hold (or ability to quickly obtain) BPI Air Leakage Control Installer (ALCI) certification
  • Effective culturally competent communication skills (in person, on the phone, and in writing)
  • Experience working with BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of color) populations and/or those who have historically experienced economic or material poverty
  • Project management preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and ability to obtain a DOT health card through a medical exam
