Primary Duties

This position supports the marketing needs and brand consistency of CEE’s teams and clients, with a focus on commercial offerings. This includes meeting regularly with departments to determine marketing needs; implementing agreed-upon marketing strategies; leading team processes to achieve and track impact for future planning. Essential to CEE’s programs and operations, this work requires a deep understanding of marketing trends, experience developing and implementing marketing strategies, and skills creating goal-focused materials.

Teamed with our established Senior Marketing Account Manager, this mid-level position reports to the Director of Communications and has no direct reports. The role requires strict attention to confidentiality, patience with people and processes, emotional intelligence and maturity, and comfort assuming the best intentions of all colleagues. This is a full‑time position that provides a wide range of benefits including Paid Time Off (PTO), medical, dental, life and long term disability insurance and a retirement plan.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to team efforts to promote CEE and its programs. Work seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders to integrate direct marketing that supports CEE’s mission and clients’ objectives.

  • Translate business objectives in strategic marketing campaigns with measurable results. Work with department leads to assess and adjust client needs and related budgets.

  • Participate in annual meetings with department leads to build marketing workplans. Also meet regularly with leads as relevant year-round to implement strategies, measure progress, and adjust as needed.

  • Contribute to annual and quarterly marketing team planning and reporting processes, to ensure a cohesive team approach and a consistently excellent customer experience across the organization.

  • Support program and business development efforts, employing marketing strategies upon request to consider and test the viability of new programs and pursue new business opportunities.

  • Support the development of project proposals with appropriate documentation of proposed marketing scope and strategies, as well as coordination of proposal editing, design, and layout.

  • Conduct or support market research as needed or requested to inform marketing strategies for existing or planned efforts. Monitor and analyze marketplace trends to guide future marketing decisions, and report findings and recommendations to team leads as relevant.

  • Oversee the production of marketing materials, from draft to design, printing or posting, and promotion. As needed to meet strategic objectives, contract and coordinate the work of outside vendors under the oversight of the Director of Communications.

  • Oversee marketing campaigns, from strategic concept to creative development, production, and analysis of results.

  • In close partnership with program liaisons, serve as primary marketing contact for portfolio clients, including utility companies and specific community contacts.

  • Report regularly to department leads about marketing implementation and progress to date. Present marketing plans and outcomes to staff as relevant.

  • Ensure brand consistency across CEE, as well as within materials aligned with partners’ brands. Provide formatting support as needed for proposals, reports, and presentations.

  • Orient new employees regarding team function, responsibilities, and staff expectations.

  • Serve as organizational or program/project public spokesperson as required by marketing strategies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience

Qualifications/Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field of study, or equivalent experience.

  • Five years’ marketing account management experience.

  • Demonstrated excellence with copywriting and developing original content for marketing materials.

  • Strategic perspective and on-the-job experience marketing commercial programs to businesses.

  • Strong project management, with aptitude for managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.

  • Level of comfort communicating strategy and ideas to an in-house designer. Familiarity with Adobe Design suite or equivalent programs preferred.

  • Proven ability to organize processes and schedule a wide range of activities.

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to speak in front of others.

  • An orientation toward teamwork, emphasizing interpersonal savvy and big picture thinking in collaboration with six-person communications/marketing team and inter-departmentally.

  • Must have reliable transportation to attend meetings and off-site events at multiple CEE offices and local events, including transportation of materials and equipment as needed.

  • Experience with nonprofits and/or mission focus is preferred.
