Primary Duties

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, the Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing strategy of the company. This includes promoting brand awareness, creating promotional materials, designing and executing marketing campaigns, maintaining our online presence, and assisting with market research. The Marketing Manager owns this role while collaborating with our Sales teams.

Job Duties

  • Lead our Marketing efforts
    • Develop and execute marketing plans to build brand awareness, increase market share, and enter new markets.
    • Support marketing efforts to enroll business customers into programs we implement for clients (utilities and program administrators).
    • Provide idea concept, copywriting, graphic design, promotional videos and editing for all internal and external marketing content. This includes: marketing materials, blogs, briefs, website, newsletter, and recruiting materials.
    • Provide market research for business development team.
    • Maintain compay website.
    • Maintain annual marketing budget.
    • Stay up-to-date on marketing trends in our industry and beyond.
  • Lead our Branding efforts
    • Maintain a strong company brand, corporate identity, and core values both internally and externally.
    • Develop recruitment materials and provide support to the recruiting process wherever necessary.
    • Prepare presentations for use at conference, customer, and recruiting events.
    • Develop and maintain monthly company newsletter
  • Lead of Electronic Communication efforts
    • Manage social media marketing effort.
      • Develop a comprehensive social media strategy.
      • Post to social media sites and update regularly.
      • Research trends.
    • Review and format weekly blog post content.
    • Manage email distributions in Hubspot.
    • Implement Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy.
    • Monitor online presence (everywhere Michaels Energy appears) with name changes, logo changes, address changes, etc.
    • Review weekly statistics for website and email campaigns.
    • Provide Sales leads from online presence.
  • Industry Conferences
    • Manage conference logistics including exhibiting, registrations, travel arrangements, gathering and shipping of materials to event, etc.
    • Order promotional materials, giveaways, etc., as needed
    • Manage internal abstract review and submittal process


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing
  • Graphic design minor – preferred
  • Video development experience a plus
  • Minimum five years of related experience with role ownership experience a plus
  • Proficient with Hubspot, WordPress, CorelDraw, MS Office, Adobe Suite, HTML and social media platforms
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and have the ability to work under a deadline
  • Must be able to effectively communicate throughout the organization
