Event Description

Clean Energy Group (CEG) conducted a survey of municipalities, community organizations, affordable housing developers, and technical service providers who have been involved in developing solar+storage projects.

The new CEG report "Overcoming Barriers to Solar+Storage in Critical Facilities Serving Low-Income Communities" details obstacles faced by these providers in pursing solar+storage projects, and suggests potential solutions.

In this webinar, Clean Energy Group will review the results of the solar+storage survey. The presentation will focus on highlights from the overall results, with an emphasis on responses from affordable housing developers and community service providers.

Nicole Lim, Executive Director of California Indian Museum and Cultural Center (CIMCC), will speak to CIMCC’s experience pursuing solar and battery storage to provide reliable backup power to the Center, which also serves as a county cooling center. CIMCC’s solar+storage effort is part of its Resilient Native Generations initiative, which seeks to expand tribal stewardship and ensure that native voices and perspectives are represented in city and county climate change planning and adaptions.
