Salary

The pay range for this position is $84,060, - $136,400 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.

Primary Duties

We are looking for a Site Superintendent to be a part of our growing Energy division in Minnesota. The Superintendent will ensure project success through on-site management of subcontractors and maintenance of client relationships.

You're great at:

Project Management

  • Act as onsite face for McKinstry.
  • Develops and updates project schedules.
  • Approve daily work tickets.
  • Review submittals.
  • Responsible for jobsite set up and tear down logistics.
  • Receive and track equipment.
  • Scheduling and coordination of subcontractors and vendors.
  • Assist in writing and reviewing scopes of work.
  • Assist Project Manager with bid procurement.
  • Manage and close out punch list activities in a timely manner.
  • Regularly communicate, formally and informally, company goals, policies, plans and priorities to field personnel.
  • Develop and maintain logs and reports as required for project execution.
  • Maintain daily logs of work performed by McKinstry and subcontractors onsite.
  • Develop RFIs as required to document changes to the scope of work.
  • Hold meetings and develop minutes as required for proper project execution.
  • Coordinates work with other trades or contractors onsite.

Communication

  • Oversees field personnel who may include union and non-union workers.
  • Ensure client concerns are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Act as conduit of communication regarding progress and logistics between client and subcontractors.
  • Resolve subcontractor disputes.
  • Schedule and deliver training to facility personnel when turning over building.
  • Prepare, log, file and distribute Superintendent daily reports.
  • Act as steward of McKinstry culture.

Safety

  • Upholds and communicates McKinstry safety standards.
  • Coordinates with Safety team to create and communicate site safety plan.
  • Ensures safety compliance of subcontractors and all on-site personnel.
  • Hosts and documents Weekly Safety meetings; review the job specific safety plan from each sub and make sure the unsafe work has a preplan agenda prior to starting.
  • Logs and files safety reports.
  • Prepares and distributes safety incident reports for internal purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience

What we would like to see from you:  

  • OSHA 30 certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of assuming position.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera and/or Suretrak required.
  • Knowledge of construction management, commercial building process, and OSHA standards required.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Four (4) years of leadership of trades and job sites preferred.
  • BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture or Facilities Management or equivalent work experience preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally. 
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
