Primary Duties

As the Site Surveyor, you will focus heavily on assisting in the flow of information within the operations department, data entry into our database, maintaining documentation, working on special projects, utilizing the company CRM, and using email and telephone to communicate with other team members and customers. You will also provide a professional site assessment for the Empire design team for the preparation of photovoltaic projects. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting a physical site assessment using a variety of tools and equipment including data collection devices, photo capturing, range finders, hand tools, ladders, personal protective equipment, etc.
  • Measuring roof planes, vents, dormers, chimneys, and other roof obstructions
  • Uploading site survey analysis, collected data, and photos of work performed each day
  • Filling out paper and digital site assessment sheets
  • Working with set appointments, tracking hours, and rescheduling when needed
  • Have 1+ year of experience in a discipline related to construction or building sciences (estimating or site assessment, PV, energy efficiency experience is preferred)
  • Have a trade school or high school degree in a discipline related to construction or building sciences is preferred
  • Have an understanding of site assessment, construction sequencing, construction methods and materials
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Maintain excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have at least 1 year of experience reading plan sets, specifications, diagrams, material data sheets, and equipment submittals
  • Have at least 1 year of data entry experience
  • Have excellent customer service skills
  • Are able to travel within an assigned territory
  • Are interested in joining the solar industry (previous experience is a plus!)
