Primary Duties
  • Create full set electrical drawings for utility and commercial-scale solar projects
  • Draft electrical online diagrams, panel system designs and conduct PVsyst analysis
  • Create PV wire schedule and equipment detail sheets
  • Ensure a deep knowledge of PV system components including modules, racking, inverters and BOS
  • Attend client meetings in order to effectively communicate EVS Inc. s electrical engineering competencies
  • Conduct site feasibility studies and assist with site surveying for PV layouts, building measurements and solar trajectory, shading, and power output calculations
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, specifically a solid understanding of NEC 2017
Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working as an engineer for an engineering firm, EPC, or solar developer
  • Demonstrated in-depth experience with AutoCAD, manual drafting, and electrical line drawing
  • Background and experience in electrical/mechanical engineering with some understanding of medium and high voltage AC
  • Demonstrated understanding of:
    • engineering and renewable energy systems;
    • solar photovoltaic systems including SCADA and monitoring systems;
    • ampacity calculations in AmpCalc, SKM, or CYMCAP; and
    • power studies in SKM or E-tap
  • Ability to interpret and communicate effectively about site drawings
  • Familiarity with electrical components and engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general management of data
  • Passionate about the renewable energy business and project development
  • Desire and ability to take plans and create something new from them
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Positive and professional attitude
