Updates on the Solar-for-Vouchers Technical Assistance Pilot Program
For eligible property owners of multifamily housing

Metropolitan Council, Clean Energy Resource Teams (CERTs)
Eligible multifamily property owners (buildings with 5 or more units) in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and Metro HRA’s Service Area (Anoka, Carver, and most of suburban Hennepin and Ramsey Counties) are invited to learn about updates to this free program.
There is no shortage of reasons to go solar. With solar, you can drastically reduce your electricity bills, increase the value of your property, and support your local economy, all while reducing your impact on the environment.
Now there’s one more reason. For a limited time the Metropolitan Council is piloting the Solar-for-Vouchers Technical Assistance Program to assist multifamily property owners (buildings with 5 or more units) with purchasing and installing solar panels at highly competitive prices from pre-screened, high-quality local solar installers.
Program participants will benefit from the Council’s expert knowledge on solar technologies, contract terms, and financing options. They will also take advantage of a streamlined, transparent, and cohort-based solar installation process, which is simplified through the Council’s technical assistance. Program participation requires renting, at market rate, a limited number of units to low-income households through the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program.
Eligible rental properties must be:
• Located in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, or Metro HRA’s Service Area (Anoka, Carver, and most of suburban Hennepin and Ramsey Counties)
• No taller than 5 stories
• Buildings with 5 or more units
• Structurally sound enough to support solar panels
Note: This pilot project is designed for rental properties. Please note that residential homes are not eligible for this pilot project.
The Zoom login information will be emailed to you.
