Do It Green! Minnesota is an all volunteer, non-profit organization with a mission to educate and motivate Minnesotans to live sustainably and to build healthy communities. They achieve this through publishing a comprehensive web site, printed green living guidebook called Do It Green! Magazine, green business directory called Do It Green! Directory, hands-on workshops, their annual Green Gifts Fair and Earth Day Celebration events, and offering a public Resource Center inside the Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis.

The organization is currently looking to fill four positions. The positions require a minimum commitment of one year, are unpaid positions (unless noted), and are available on a flexible schedule. Do It Green! positions require a commitment and genuine interest in sustainable living and in turn provide a complete hands-on experience.

Office Manager
We are seeking an individual that has general office administration skills and good organizational skills. The Office Manager will be in charge of weekly office tasks such as mail, voice mail, database management, monthly e-newsletter content, meeting and event assistance and other general office tasks. This position also includes managing the distribution of our green living guidebook free to local libraries and schools throughout Greater Minnesota. A vehicle is not required for this position. You will learn basic non-profit management skills as well as get connected to many of the sustainability resources in the metro area. This volunteer position requires a one year commitment with a minimum of two office shifts totaling 15 hours/week. Website& Social Media Manager
We are seeking an individual that is fluent with all social media and has some basic html experience. This position includes updates on our web site (through Drupal), creating monthly e-newsletters (through Vertical Response), and weekly updates on Facebook and Twitter. This position role also includes creating and coordinating a monthly social media event at our Do It Green! Resource Center in Minneapolis. In this position, you will learn firsthand how a non-profit organization manages their outgoing communications through social media. Work hours are very flexible for this position and some work can be done remotely. This position requires 10-15 hours/week and a one year commitment. Green Gifts Fair Planning Team Members
Do It Green! Minnesota will host our 8th Annual Green Gifts Fair this November at the Midtown Global Market. This event hosts 6,000+ attendees, 15 educational and activity tables on low impact holidays and over 70 green vendors and local artists. Come be a part of our planning team this year. The team meets monthly and includes the following position roles: Green Gifts Fair Assistant, Promotions/Outreach Coordinator, Eco Fashion Show Coordinator, Demos& Stage Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator. These are unpaid internship positions requiring 15 hrs/week June-December, 2013 that will offer experience in planning and implementing a large, low-waste, green event. Do It Green! Resource Center Educator
We are seeking volunteers with a passion for green living to take a volunteer shift each week hosting our Do It Green! Resource Center inside the Midtown Global Market. This opportunity will give you a chance to teach others about the basics of green living, for you to sit down and learn more at the center and to connect with others in the green community. Basic training will be provided. We are seeking to fill the following days/times: 11am-1pm shifts on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays AND 5pm-7pm shifts on Fridays and Sundays.
