GreenCorps Member Rebecca Heisel joins Great Plains Institute

Rebecca Heisel joined the Great Plains Institute (GPI) electric vehicle crew in September as a Minnesota GreenCorps Member for an 11-month service term. In this position, Rebecca will provide one on one support and technical assistance to communities to help them with their initiatives related to electric vehicle adoption.

Before becoming a GreenCorps member, Rebecca was a volunteer for the Peace Corps in Panama working to raise awareness for positive environmental conservation practices and managed a community wide project building energy efficient wood stoves. Serving abroad in Panama inspired Rebecca to look for local opportunities to engage communities in meaningful environmentally focused work, and she is excited to have found that opportunity through GPI! In her free time, Rebecca enjoys biking on the Gateway Trail, pampering her Panamanian cat, and going on nature hikes!

Working to raise awareness for positive environmental conservation practices during my time serving with the Peace Corps in Panama inspired me to look for local opportunities to engage communities in meaningful environmentally focused work.
