MN job seekers should look toward green-collar careers

As a Minnesotan who works to help communities find ways to save money with clean and efficient energy, I believe that our state is on the cutting edge of an economic surge. Federal and State laws have been passed that put money toward “green-collar careers,” or jobs linked to conservation and environmental sustainability.

Joel HaskardIn every corner of the state, opportunities—from solar, to transportation, to natural resources—are booming (I’m looking at you, electricians!). Increasing capacity in these areas can lead to big financial savings for our communities, businesses, and homes, and provide career opportunities for our neighbors and future generations of Minnesotans. But to get there, we need our workforce to prioritize these career paths.

Luckily, there are resources that make it easy to find these opportunities. One is a job board featuring clean energy jobs across Minnesota. People visiting the Clean Energy Job Board can find a list of jobs that’s updated multiple times a week. Businesses and organizations can post their own job openings here too. All free.

Together, we can get these positions filled as communities and businesses look for ways to reduce their energy costs with energy efficiency and renewable energy.
