Event Description

Join us at Housing First Minnesota for the Xcel Energy Zero Energy Ready Home and ENERGY STAR NextGen Builder Training. This two-day event presented by Gord Cooke includes a comprehensive program that will equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to to construct high-performance zero energy ready homes.

Day one is focused on the Zero Energy Ready Home Version 2 Training, covering advanced wall systems, high-performance mechanical systems, and renewable energy integration. Learn to select the most cost-effective materials and technologies to design, model, and construct homes that only use as much energy as they are able to produce over the course of each year. The emphasis will be on finding practical solutions for each specific climate zone.

Day two is focused on the new ENERGY STAR NextGen Certification Program, which offers an additional level of recognition for homes and apartments that go above and beyond the core ENERGY STAR Residential New Construction Program requirements and incorporates advanced electric technologies that will help to build our clean energy future.

Gain practical expertise through hands-on exercises and case studies.

By the end of the two-day course, you'll be empowered to build zero energy ready homes, and gain the knowledge necessary to meet the ZERH Program requirements and the NextGen Certification Program requirements. Join us and be at the forefront of sustainable construction, creating homes that prioritize energy efficiency, cost savings, durability, comfort, and a reduced carbon footprint.
