2024 Solar for Schools funding updates

The Solar for Schools grant program was established by the MN State Legislature in 2021. The program was updated during the 2023 legislative session with an expansion of the schools eligible for funding. Access the November 2023 program update slides [PDF] for details on the changes.

There will be two funding rounds in 2024 with readiness assessment acceptance periods running 1/10-2/7/2024 and 7/1-7/31/2024.

Before beginning an application, schools must email [email protected] to obtain a project ID, and then proceed with the notice of intent: school readiness assessment, and if deemed ready to proceed with solar they will be invited to compete a full grant application.
