Design and Instruction Technician
Just Housing creates cost-effective standardized solutions for new and existing homes and delivers building science-informed workforce training in green building. We’re looking for a systems-thinker who is curious, detail-oriented, technically proficient and methodical. This multi-skilled person will participate in both design/drafting and workforce training activities.
$23-$28/hour dependent upon experience
PTO and health benefits
full time: 32-35 hours per week, typically
- Drafting/production of standardized designs and details
- Drafting and project development for special projects
- Assist with the development of JH standard designs
- Assist with the development of in-house AutoCAD standards and protocols
- Earn BPI Building Science Principles Certificate (if not already certified)
- Assist with delivery of services for energy audits and related projects for existing homes
- Participate in training activities/instruction delivery commensurate with skills
- Post-secondary degree in drafting, design or architecture, carpentry, building science or similar field, or equivalent certifications, credentials and/or professional experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office
- Prefer additional experience in rendering/graphics
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in some combination of drafting, residential design, residential carpentry/construction, home performance and/or carpentry instruction
- Understanding of (single-family) residential construction methods and details
- Interest and/or experience in workforce training and education, affordable housing development, housing advocacy, and/or climate justice
