Hutchinson Utilities Commission powers up their their 80,000 sq ft solar array

December 2021

Congratulations to Hutchinson Utilities Commission (HUC) on their December solar project ribbon cutting!

The 625 KW AC project, a uniquely large solar array for a municipal utility—approximately 80,000 square feet across the Hutchinson Industrial Park—was put into service on November 2, 2021.

Both the City of Hutchinson and the commission have been early adopters of clean energy. HUC is on track to be a 100% net zero carbon utility this year through purchasing renewable energy credits.
