Job Opportunity: Communication Specialist with the Minnesota Rural Electric Association

We’re pleased to let you know about another job opportunity in the energy world, this time the Communication Specialist position with the Minnesota Rural Electric Association in Maple Grove, MN.

Here’s what the job entails:

  • Develop and implement a communication program and budget that promotes and supports the association’s goals and objectives and assists member systems with their communication needs.
  • Identify opportunities to support the association’s initiatives and develop communication materials to promote and publicize these activities. Communicate strategies and make recommendations to the Director of Education and Communication, association staff, and member systems.
  • Assist Director of Education and Communication with media relations (event news releases), promotions (signage), annual meeting and Energy Issues Summit (EIS) planning, video production and other events (i.e. Golf & Fishing Tournaments).
  • Research, prepare, edit, design layout and manage content for all association websites. Oversee MREA on-line career center postings.
  • Create, edit and oversee the distribution of the association’s newsletters and publications including the annual magazine, monthly newsletter, biweekly enewsletter, annual Member Directory and various legislative publications.
  • Coordinate the Associate Member Program including planning and coordinating logistics for all related events including trade shows, golf tournaments and other special events.
  • Actively develop and maintain positive professional relations with member systems so that needs can be determined and input sought on communication efforts.
