Minnesota's Efficient Technology Accelerator (ETA) is a partnership funded by the state’s participating investor-owned utilities (IOUs) and consumer owned utilities (COUs), administered by the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Division of Energy Resources (DER), and implemented by Center for Energy and Environment (CEE).
The goals of the ETA program include:
- Driving a strategic process to accelerate deployment of key technologies
- Employing effective strategies to leverage market forces
- Becoming a hub of collaboration among stakeholders
- Achieving cost-effective energy savings and other benefits for utilities and Minnesotans
CEE has been working with Minnesota IOUs, COUs, and market partners to deploy this program for over three years, and will file for renewal for another five years (2028–2032) this fall.
This webinar is an opportunity to learn about the role ETA has played within Minnesota's Energy Conservation and Optimization (ECO) framework, and to ask questions and share input ahead of the renewal filing. On August 20th, the ETA team will present an overview of the program, progress to date, and future direction.
Legislation passed in 2021 established Market Transformation as part of the ECO Act, creating Minnesota's ETA. Market transformation is a proven approach to improving the efficiency of buildings, successfully implemented in the Northwest and other regions for over 20 years.
