Videos: Reaching bold clean energy targets in Rochester

City featured in national conservation series

Rochester, Minnesota is being nationally recognized for its collaborative efforts to reach a more sustainable, clean energy future. A crew from This American Land, a national conservation newsmagazine series, spent time in Rochester in July 2020 to record the segment, titled "Urban Renewable Energy."

The City of Rochester Sustainability and Resilience Task Force was also recently recognized with a 2021 Climate Adaptation Award for their partnerships.

The city of Rochester has some ambitious environmental targets and we’ve seen a great response from the community. This program pulls the curtain back on some of our sustainability efforts in Rochester.

Video by Clean Energy Economy MN: The building manager of Rochester’s Recreation Center has a lot on his hands. At any one moment, an ice skater could be practicing their double axel on one of two sheets of ice in the facility, while just a few yards away swimmers could be practicing for their next competition in the Olympic-sized pool at the natatorium.
