Talk Inc: Remanufacturing Small Wind Turbines in Central Minnesota

Minnesota is home to several small wind turbine manufacturers, including Jacobs, Ventera, and Talk Inc. (remanufactured turbines). We recently reached out to these companies and heard back from Adam Suelflow, President of Talk Inc. in Sauk Centre, MN. They are currently building a new facility right off of I-94 in the Sauk Centre Industrial Park where they will have a brand new Suelflow 100kW on a 115 foot monopole tower. Below are some of the details Adam provided.

Number of employees: 7

Distinctive characteristics of remanufactured turbines: Talk Inc. remanufactures machines ranging in size from 35kW to 250kW. We specialize and have remanufactured more than 60 of the following machines: Windmatic 15S, Vestas V-15, Micon 65, and Nordtank 65. We have more than 60 machines throughout Minnesota, Iowa, Ohio, and Alaska.

Talk Inc. A recent noteworthy installation: One of our recent installations was in the Owatonna Industrial Park at Pearson. It is located right off of I-35. It is located near the Owatonna water tower and can be looked at up close if you take the Bridge Street exit off of I-35. This is a remanufactured Windmatic 17S 95kW wind turbine on a new 115’ Monopole tower (see photo above).

What should people consider when buying a turbine? Do your research. There are so many wind turbine companies out there that claim to have experience that they don’t. We always encourage potential customers to talk with our existing customers and take a look at past projects. We pride ourselves in great customer service and remanufacturing machines above and beyond original specifications.

Why is now a good time to purchase a turbine? There are many state and federal incentives to take advantage of right now, making the payback on a wind turbine even quicker. Talk Inc. is also pending certification from the Small Wind Certification Council on our brand new Suelflow 100kW Wind Turbine. We are currently in the testing phase and hope to be certified and in full production within the next twelve months.
