The USDA is Seeking Applicants for $573 Million in New Bioenergy Funding

Three USDA programs are now accepting applications for a slate of new funding for biofuel production and use. Announced on March 14, as much as $573 million in funding will be available through loan guarantees, financial assistance and producer payments.

The Biorefinery Assistance Program will provide $463 million in loan guarantees to biorefineries, while the Repowering Assistance Program will give $25 million to aid fuel switching from fossil fuels to bioenergy.

Finally, the Bioenergy Program for Advanced Biofuels is offering $85 million in producer payments for the production of advanced biofuels using feedstocks other than corn starch.
