Salary

Salary Range:

$28.82 - $42.31 Hourly

Hours

8:30-4:30 M-F

Primary Duties

Principal Responsibilities: 1. All employees on a daily basis are expected to execute a service commitment to ensure all students are served and have a positive experience. 

2. Lead communication and digital engagement activities.

3. Organize and execute career outreach and exploration activities.

4. Perform organizational leadership and assessment activities.

5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Minnesota State Energy Center of Excellence, College President or the College Provost. 

 

Candidates can work from ANY Minnesota State Campus. 

Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in Non-Profit, Education, Outreach, Community Engagement, Higher Education or Advancement, or related field. A bachelor’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience, an associate’s degree may substitute for 6 months experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and motivate cooperation among colleges, universities, high schools, businesses, and the community.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. 
  • High level communication skills, including oral, written and presentation.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment. 
  • Computer skills in digital communication platforms and tools sufficient to design, distribute, and engage diverse audiences.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule involving travel throughout Minnesota. Some overnight travel may be required. Approx. 25% of the time, heavy in the Fall and Spring.   

Preferred Qualification 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Education, or other related field.
  • Knowledge of energy industry fundamentals, policy, student development, renewable energy, and/or careers in trades and technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, organize, lead and execute large scale events.
  • Commitment to and experience building communities among diverse populations.
  • Hands on application of data driven decision making to support assessment activities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing & communication strategies.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Experience developing compelling photo and video storytelling. 
  • Previous work experience in the Minnesota State College and University system.
