Primary Duties

The Commercial Energy Advisor is responsible for managing, with the commercial team, the energy service needs of key and commercial account customers. This position is engaged within our commercial community and trade allies – acting in their best interests by providing energy consulting, innovative strategies and technologies, and project management. They assist local businesses with energy efficiency design, new product development, selling conservation, proposal writing, contract negotiations, and supervising finances for energy projects. They also play a pivotal role in RPU's conservation and Demand Side Management (DSM) initiatives while achieving regulatory and public affairs goals.

Rochester Public Utilities is looking for someone who can manage competing priorities, build trust with commercial customers, and keep projects moving. Being able to explain energy concepts in plain language and help customers make practical decisions is an integral part of this role. Utility, DSM (spell out DSM) or facility maintenance experience is helpful, but not required.
