How can cities work with residents to move more quickly towards a sustainable energy future? On Earth Day 2026, join a workshop with Missy Stults, Director of Sustainability for the City of Ann Arbor, Michigan, which is leading the nation in implementing an innovative municipal energy utility called the SUSTAINABLE ENERGY UTILITY (SEU).
Missy is the visionary behind Ann Arbor’s SEU, an optional (sign up only if you want), supplemental (you’ll stay connected to the current grid), community-owned initiative that provides 100% local, renewable and clean energy solutions. This workshop/Teach-In will offer city and county officials from the Twin Ports and other Minnesota regions along with interested climate and energy democracy citizen activists, and clean energy student ambassadors an exploratory, hands-on path to starting their own, local SEUs. “To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” Buckminster Fuller
