Educational Opportunities for Students and Teachers with KidWind

If you haven’t heard of KidWind, they do a wide range of work on wind energy education, from helping a fifth grader troubleshoot a homemade wind turbine to working with major industry partners toward developing regional training programs that impact hundreds of teachers. They have some upcoming opportunities for students and teachers that are not to be missed!

WindSenators Program: KidWind is looking for 30 fantastic teachers to add to our WindSenators network this summer. We need educators who are eager to train the next generation of engineers, biologists and technicians as we move toward a future that is increasingly powered by wind energy. If you’re interested in teaching about wind energy in your K-12 classroom and want an in-depth look at wind power, related curricula and classroom materials, this is the program for you. You could even receive a scholarship! Click here to learn more >>

KidWind Challenge: Our student-driven wind turbine design competitions are in full swing! Students build small-scale wind turbines from scratch, and KidWind brings the wind tunnel and testing equipment! The KidWind Challenge is rapidly growing all over the country. Perhaps people are excited about wind. Maybe it has something to do with CASH PRIZES! See a complete list of upcoming KidWind Challenges, and sign up!
