Electric Savings Program Field Assessor
Sustainable Resources Center (SRC) is a Minnesota nonprofit organization running the largest deep energy efficiency and decarbonization home retrofit program for income-qualified residents in the state. $25.50 Per Hour
This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position eligible for paid time off, paid vacation, paid holidays, 401(k) with employer match, medical and dental insurance, employer-paid life insurance, short- and long-term disability benefits, and a cell phone stipend.
Field Assessors visit income-qualified clients to identify homes that can receive free appliance replacements – refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers. Field Assessors also deliver LED light bulbs and smart energy strips, and educate clients on the benefits of conserving electricity.
Daily Job Duties of a Field Assessor:
- Coordinate client home visits by telephone and/or email.
- Conduct multiple home visits per day, primarily within Hennepin County.
- Identify appliances to be replaced and measure spaces and doorways to ensure delivery workers have access to install the appliances.
- Drop off LED light bulbs, energy power strips and the occasional dehumdifier to clients.
- Provide education to clients about home electricity use and conservation.
- Provide ESP paperwork to program administrative assistant and complete appropriate forms for possible referrals to other SRC programs.
- Respond to client questions and concerns via telephone, email and in person.
- Receive deliveries of smaller ESP supplies at SRC office.
Qualified applicants must have:
- A passion for energy efficiency
- A valid driver’s license and a relatively clean driving record
- An insured personal vehicle. SRC does not have a vehicle fleet; all staff members drive their own cars to visits. SRC reimburses mileage at the federal rate.
- The ability to relate to and communicate effectively and respectfully with individuals from many different cultures and socioeconomic situations – both on the phone and in person
- Computer skills to operate Microsoft Office applications, and ease with modern office technology such as a copier and a scanner
