Job Summary
Hybrid work schedule available, up to 50% telework depending on business needs. Telework can be outside of the state of Minnesota if the candidate lives in a state bordering Minnesota and lives 50 miles or less from the primary work location. Primary work location will be the Golden Rule Building in St. Paul.

The purpose of this position is to ensure that the health, safety, and economic security of Minnesotans is protected through a secure and reliable energy system. This position will achieve its purpose through planning and advisory activities related to liquid fuels, delivered fuels, and energy security and resilience planning and coordination. This position provides support to state energy security planning and implementation efforts and increasing the energy resilience of Minnesota communities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience performing analysis, exercising judgment, and relying on knowledge in energy supply systems.
A Bachelor's degree in Energy Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, Energy Resource Management, Energy Management/Policy, or a related field is equivalent to one (1) year of experience.
An Advanced degree in Energy Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, Energy Resource Management, Energy Management/Policy, or a related field is equivalent to eighteen (18) months of experience.
Applicants who meet the above education/experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following:
- Knowledge of energy assurance planning and activities.
- Experience presenting recommendations on sensitive issues to decision-making bodies, along with demonstrated expertise in education and outreach.
- Experience reading, comprehending, analyzing, and interpreting technical reports.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Energy Security and Supply.
- Experience with Emergency Response or Hazard Planning.
- Knowledge of Federal Energy Assurance Planning and Activities.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
Additional Requirements
