We are looking for an Energy Advisor to join our growing Customer Engagement team! This role will report to the Customer Engagement Supervisor. An Energy Advisor primarily works with Home Energy Squad (HES) customers after they complete their visit and helps them reach their energy goals. An Energy Advisor has excellent communication skills and provides an incredible customer service experience by coordinating all post-visit correspondence, scheduling contractor appointments, and sharing information about financing, utility rebates and other incentives and generally acts a knowledgeable third-party resource for customers as they make energy improvements. Occasionally, an Energy Advisor schedules a customer’s upcoming HES visit or works with other CEE departments or programs on advising related tasks.

Hybrid – 1-3 days/week in our Roseville office

Primary Duties

Customer advisement

  • Act as a primary contact for energy efficiency program participants after their visit.
  • Provide an engaging, reliable, accurate and timely customer experience by connecting customers to all applicable programs,
  • Counsel customers through specific energy programs and help participants overcome barriers to completion of energy efficiency projects.
  • Respond to customer complaints and concerns to ensure customer retention and satisfaction.
     

Process Improvement

  • Coordinate with Customer Engagement Supervisor to reach annual program goals.
  • Assist Customer Engagement Supervisor in standardizing messaging and language.
  • Work on regular projects with the Customer Engagement Supervisor to improve the Salesforce CRM and Hubspot functionalities.
     

Administrative Support

  • Professionally and efficiently schedule the appropriate energy visit for new customers as needed.
  • Schedule inspections for applicable programs.
  • Manage client data and paperwork in compliance with record retention and data privacy policies.
  • Other duties as assigned or apparent.
Experience

Skills & Knowledge Were Looking For

  • Two (2) years of experience involving customer service, interacting with clients in person, by phone and over email
    General understanding of building science as related to residential buildings
  • Understanding of electrification or the demonstrated ability to learn more about this technology.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills; specifically, the ability to explain building science, electrification and energy efficiency concepts to customers clearly, concisely and in a motivating way.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively over email, phone and text.
  • Must be comfortable spending approximately two hours on the phone with customers each day.
  • Extensive experience navigating utility rebate programs and familiarity with other incentive programs.
  • Must demonstrate excellent time-management, multitasking, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently toward program goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent applicable experience in related field.
  • Must have or must earn the BPI Building Science Principles (BSP) certification.
  • Experience with residential energy efficiency programs
    Comfortable in a fast-paced, professional environment.
