Event Description

The agricultural industry consumes an immense amount of fossil-fuel in the production of food, feed, fiber, and energy. This can carry significant economic, environmental and ecological risks. U of MN West Central Research and Outreach Center researchers and staff have been pursing a greening of ag initiative, with the overall objecting of reducing fossil-fuel consumption in agricultural production systems through the use of renewable energy generation, energy conservation, and energy optimization of production systems.

Presentations and tours at the 2024 Midwest Farm Energy Conference will address utility transmission, electrifying the farm, the use of agrivoltaics, ammonia as a farm fuel, the use of E-Fuels, and reducing methane emissions in dairy cows.
