Minnesota Siting Collaborative

The Minnesota Siting Collaborative provides guidance on the siting and permitting of renewable energy

Supporting stakeholders on issues related to community- and utility-scale renewable energy.

The Minnesota Siting Collaborative is a group of 11 state, Tribal, and nonprofit organizations working together to provide reliable information and technical assistance to local and Tribal governments, communities, and other stakeholders on issues related to the planning, siting, and permitting of large renewable energy projects across Minnesota.

Our goal is to provide the accurate information you need to effectively engage in decision-making processes for your community.

REQUEST TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

Minnesota local governments, community groups, and other stakeholders can use this form to request free technical assistance on solar, wind, and battery planning, siting, and permitting.

The Collaborative can provide workshops, facilitation, and consultations on topics like:

  • Understanding permitting processes
  • Planning and zoning
  • Community engagement
  • Environmental, economic, and community impacts
  • Benefits agreements
  • Planning for decommissioning
