Part Time Youth Worker
The MIGIZI Part-time Youth Worker is responsible for working closely with staff to provide assistance to MIGIZI’s programming and transportation needs. At MIGIZI, we operate four key programs: First Person Productions, Green Tech, CLAW, and our Best Buy Teen Tech Center. This position will involve transporting youth to and from our programs, staffing our front desk, and aiding staff in various day to day responsibilities in working with youth.
This position reports directly to the CLAW Program Director.

$19/hour
This is a part-time, in-person position at a maximum of 20 hours per week. Hours vary between the school year and summer months.
• School Year: Monday–Thursday, 2:30 PM – 7:30 PM
• Summer Programming: hours scheduled between the times of 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Support daily program operations including meal service, front desk reception, and youth supervision
- Greet students upon arrival and ensure they follow the sign-in process
- Serve as the primary driver of MIGIZI’s 12-passenger van for after-program drop-offs (school year) and field trips (summer)
- Supervise and engage with students during lunch and unstructured time, especially during summer programming
- Assist with transportation and general logistics on field trip days
- Follow directions from program supervisors and communicate effectively with team members
- Fill in for lead program staff during program hours (4-6pm) as needed due to an unexpected absence, PTO or deemed by President and/or CLAW Program Director.
- Support program leads in their work with tribal elders and culture-bearers to incorporate programming with cultural teachings, adult guidance, and support.
- Assist in daily cleanup/ set up of our common spaces in preparation for programming
- Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Work Environment
Youth Worker works in Migizi offices or in a field environment with youth programming. They spend time traveling and implementing programming. A great deal of time may be spent standing and walking.

- Knowledge of American Indian values and cultural practices.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with Minneapolis/St. Paul Indian communities.
- Background and ability to work with youth in a variety of settings and on a variety of projects.
- Computer skills (Google workspace, MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
- Maintain confidentiality of required information.
- Good driving record and ability to transport youth with an organizational vehicle.
- Must be 25 years of age in compliance with MIGIZI’s vehicle insurance requirements
