Program and Projects Coordinator
The Program and Projects Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation for MIGIZI programs, services, events, and community engagement efforts. Working closely with and providing assistance to program leads in organizing and coordinating field trips, meal service, youth onboarding, tabling events, evaluation implementation and salesforce data tracking for all programs.
Helping to ensure programming is promoting the healthy development of American Indian youth to ensure the accomplishment of the goals, objectives, and outcomes as required. This position reports directly to the President.

● Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000
● This is a full-time, 40 hour/week in-person position
● Some weekends and evenings
- Lead the planning, coordination, communication and implementation for MIGIZI events, and community engagement and outreach efforts
- Support the coordination of MIGIZI programs and manage services supply needs ie. food, supplies, etc.
- Lead/ manage/supervise meal service processes and the data tracking required.
● Support the coordination of program staff in their development of annual work plans to guide the implementation and assessment of strategic goals and contractual agreements with community-based organizations and schools
● Support the coordination and planning of program staff to mentor and work with students to develop, implement, track and meet goals of individual learning plans
● Leadand participate in the collection of data, story collection, supporting evaluation work and assessing outcomes through outcome tracker, and regular meetings to learn, celebrate and/or redefine strategies
● Fill in for lead program staff during program hours as needed due to an unexpected absence, PTO or deemed by the President.
● Coordinate and facilitate meetings with MIGIZI staff as needed
● Maintain the infrastructure for program staff to keep timely and accurate program records in the organizational database
● Lead the coordination and planning of program staff in the recruitment strategies of youth to programs
- Lead and manage youth employment onboarding and payroll enrollment
● Support the coordination and planning of program staff in their design and implement afterschool and summer programming, coordinated with all Migizi staff
- Lead the coordination of MIGIZI’s credit recovery efforts with Minneapolis Public Schools
● Support the coordination and implementation of program staff to provide individual and small group mentoring to youth during school, after school, during breaks and summer ex. Talking circles, related cultural activities and field trips
● Support the coordination and implementation of program staff to work with tribal elders and culture-bearers to incorporate programming with cultural teachings, adult guidance, and support
● Communicate as required with families of youth served, serve as main point of contact
● Network within institutions and partners with school systems to strengthen relationships and opportunities and help with any contracts needed with the program team.
● Work closely with the administration team to ensure program goals, funder deliverables/commitments and strategic plan objectives are being met in a timely manner
● Work closely with the administration team to support and inform the development of various reports, partnership emails, monthly newsletters, etc.
● Work closely with the administration team to develop event and program communication
● Maintain MIGIZI partnerships through proactive communication and collaboration for planning events, programming, etc.
● Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
● Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
● Minimum three years experience planning, coordination and successful implementation of educational and internship support activities with American Indian youth
● Contribute to a cooperative, collaborative and flexible work team environment ● Model positive behaviors to youth and staff
● Proven ability to communicate effectively and maintain healthy positive relationships with team members
● Proven ability to actively engage youth and their families/guardians in the creation and pursuit of education and career goals
● Knowledge of American Indian values and cultural practices
● Knowledge of and familiarity with Minneapolis/St. Paul Indian communities
● Background and ability to work with youth in a variety of settings and on a variety of projects
● Computer skills (Google workspace, MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint) ● Maintain confidentiality of required information
● Good driving record and ability to transport youth with an organizational vehicle
