US Solar is hiring a Project Engineer to oversee engineering activities through the life cycle of US Solar’s Development and Operations activities. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.
- Creation and maintenance of Basis of Design (BOD) based on state/regional requirements, new technologies, contractor feedback
- Ensure internal and external counterparties utilize and comply with most current BOD
- Selection of engineering partners in new and existing markets
- Build engineering scopes of work
- Request competitive proposals
- Administer the creation and execution of service contracts
- Support engineering partner relationships
- Attend regular meetings and record meeting minutes
- Maintain for engineering schedules
- Administer engineering invoices and applicable change orders
- Review engineering deliverables to assure accuracy of requested elements
- Assure appropriate file storage for transparency with all departments
- Communicate engineering information and specifications to internal and external stakeholders
- Understand and analyze the impact of design decisions on project budgets and risks.
- Assist Development and Operations staff in technical issues arising from utility interaction
- Participate in US Solar response to RFPs with utilities and related potential customers
- Respond to Financial counterparties’ technical questions as part of due diligence
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline; Electrical or Power Systems Engineering experience preferred
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role or utilizing similar core proficiencies
- Strong analytical skills with knowledge of development and construction activities
- Solar PV experience and knowledge preferred but not required
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to do minor in-state traveling
