Salary

This is a full-time exempt salaried position with an expected base annual salary range $100,000 - $150,000 (depending on skills and qualifications) + additional bonuses/incentives through targeted profit sharing and position based incentives.

Hours

Schedule & Business Operating Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, but may be required to work outside of standard business hours to support commercial project management and business needs including accessibility after hours for urgent project needs (*schedule to be reviewed and determined with director by management). 

Hybrid: This position is eligible to work a combination of in-office work at AES headquarters (St. Paul, MN) and remote/work from home eligibility: (*Note: this is subject to change by management based on company and business needs, may or may not be eligible until 90+ days of employment/training period completion, will be determined and agreed on by management and employee, and contingent upon employees being in good standing). 

Primary Duties

Create and manage the project schedule using critical path theory for all associated projects in support of system development, engineering, procurement, and construction activities which include, but are not limited to:
Oversee Project Subcontractor and Supplier Relationships

  • Avoid “downtime” and schedule for optimal efficiency while meeting customers’ requirements.
  • Managing the subcontracting process for all subcontracted scopes, including scope development, subcontractor qualification, contract negotiation, and document review.
  • Comprehend and manage the Company’s contractual obligations.
  • Prepare and execute pay applications and change orders.
  • Periodically visit project sites to assist with supervision (as needed) and to maintain familiarity with our people, processes, and materials.
  • Develop and maintain reports within and external to ERP.
  • As required, communicate and coordinate with internal and external contacts for obtaining permits, licenses, approvals, inspections, etc.

Oversee Commercial Project Budgets and Materials 

  • Prepare budget review documents for internal and external review.
  • In conjunction with the Purchasing and Engineering teams (where needed), research and obtain sources of non-standard products required for custom projects.
  • Work directly with the Warehouse and Purchasing teams to assure effective coordination of material and equipment arrival for all projects. 

Manage and Lead Projects  and Internal/External Staff

  • Provide mentorship and training to the team to build depth and breadth in the group as necessary.
  • Interview and hire project support roles including site supervisors, site engineers, and project assistants in partnership with the Director of Commercial Operation.
  • Serve as backup to Director of Commercial Operations in their absence.

  • Knowledge and experience in Solar (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Google Drive, Gmail), Salesforce, NetSuite, or similar tools and technology (preferred).
  • Ability to travel, including out-of-state, and work in commercial field conditions (infrequent).
  • OSHA 10 certification (required).
  • OSHA 30 certification (required within 30 days of employment if not current).
  • Project Management certification (preferred).
