Primary Duties: 

Responsibilities:
The Solar Project Manager pr
ovides overall administrative direction for one large or several smaller solar projects and assumes responsibility for the overall project performance including costs, schedule, quality and project status. This position involves subcontract negotiations, liaison with owners, engineers and subtrades and management of the technical and financial aspects of the contract.

Maintain excellent relationship with owner, architect, consultants, subcontractors, and public
Liaison with authorities and regulatory agencies
Set-up project reporting procedures
Develop and monitor the project schedule and budget
Establish construction plans and engineering methods
Negotiate issues of subcontracts and major purchase orders
Understand and enforce contractual responsibilities, contract documents and resolve disputes
Handle all change orders, including negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impacts, and preparation of claims
Prepare/verify and monitor progress billings to owner and from subcontractors
Review of productivity planning and monitoring
Provide performance status reports regarding cost forecasts, schedule and safety
Supervise, mentor, coach and training of project personnel
Ensure project profitability
Involved in all facets of project close-out

We are seeking an experienced Solar Project Manager for our Minneapolis District office located in Edina, MN.

Experience: 

Qualifications:
5+ years of proven experience in project management from project pursuit to project close-out, overseeing large and complex commercial construction projects
3+ years of experience in renewable energies, specifically solar projects
Degree in construction management, construction or civil engineering, or related field
Solar utility experience preferred with Utility Scaled and/or Commercial and Industrial solar projects
Mobile availability to work in different locations across the US
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Familiar with project management software programs
Knowledge of relevant construction law and codes
Ability to understand and employ engineering/construction plans/specifications, methods and procedures
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to establish a good working relationship with many different people, including owners, other managers, designers, supervisors, and trades people
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Ability to solve problems related to construction, sequencing and staffing
Entrepreneurial spirit
Possess a valid Driver’s License
Must be authorized and provide validation to work in the United State * PCL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g. H1-B, etc) for this position
Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test
